This is an advanced beginner class. Students should be comfortable casting on, knitting in the round, knitting and purling. We'll teach you the rest!
In this four session class, you'll learn the ins and outs of lace knitting, including lace increases and decreases, yarn overs, how to read a lace chart and how to identify and fix basic mistakes in lace knitting. Together we'll knit the Lydian Cowl by Dee O'Keefe. You'll have a (mostly) completed cowl by the end of the class and guidelines for picking out your next lace project!
Materials needed:
- Lydian Cowl by Dee O'Keefe (purchase on Ravelry)
- 1 skein Malabrigo Rios or 100g of worsted weight yarn
- 16" US 7 needles or needles to obtain gauge
Before the start of class: Buy supplies, cast on, and knit ribbing. If you aren't comfortable knitting twisted rib (knitting through the back loop), you can knit regular ribbing.
Materials for the class must be bought at The Craftivist. Students will receive a 10% discount on the cost of supplies for the class.
