Our First Sweater class is designed to introduce you to the fundamentals of sweater knitting. This is the perfect class for someone who is comfortable with the basics of knitting and ready to jump into something new!

Together we will knit the Newborn size of the Simple Sweater by Tin Can Knits, a top down circular yoke sweater, and learn the Magic Loop method in the process!

Required skills: Advanced beginner. Pattern reading, casting on, knitting, purling, binding off. We will teach you everything else!

Simple Sweater from Tin Can Knits (available in the Tin Can Knits app)

YARN
1 skein of Malabrigo Rios (we always recommend a less-busy light or bright yarn to see your stitches more clearly)

CIRCULAR NEEDLES
US Size 6 circular needles – 16” length AND 32” length
US Size 8 circular needles – 16” length AND 32” length
(Students can use fixed or interchangeable needles)

NOTIONS
Cocoknits Original Stitch Markers (or a stitch marker set with at least three types of stitch markers distinct from each other)
